The Buller Cricket Association celebrates it’s 150th anniversary on the weekend of 18/19 November 2017. 150 years of cricket in Buller will be celebrated with a series of functions over the weekend. Full details are available at Click here
Cricket first began in Buller in 1866 with the first organised games taking place in 1867. Since then, cricket has cemented its place as the major summer sport in the district. Initially cricket in the area was run by the clubs including inter-association matches. Early in the 20th century Buller became a minor association in its own right and has continued to be an autonomous district association to the present day with affiliation to Canterbury Cricket.
Buller has produced three New Zealand representatives over the years and a number of provincial representatives. The association won the Hawke Cup, the pinnacle of district cricket in 2015.
